EDI researchers are participating in the Moore4Power project meeting

5 November 2026

From 4 to 5 November 2026, Dr. Kaspars Ozols, Deputy Director for Development and Leading Researcher at the Institute of Electronics and Computer Science (EDI), and Dr. Rolands Šāvelis, Researcher, are participating in the General Assembly of the Horizon Europe Chips JU project "More than Moore for Disruptive Innovations in Power Electronics (Moore4Power)" in Vienna, Austria.

During the event, the project partners discuss project implementation, network, and make project-related decisions. The programme includes presentations and discussions on heterogeneous integration and power chiplets, sustainability and life cycle assessment, the digital product passport, and the reliability of power electronics in harsh environments.

The goals of the General Assembly are:

  • to meet in person to speed up trust, clarity, and decision-making;

  • to enable on-site matchmaking for collaboration across use cases (UCs), technology groups (CITs), and demonstrators;

  • to put key issues on the table early: interfaces, dependencies, and risks;

  • to shape the main topics and the project’s impact thread;

  • to make partners’ skills and needs visible through a poster session and enable one-to-one talks.

Moore4Power aims to accelerate the development of next-generation sustainable power electronics in Europe by combining Si, SiC, and GaN semiconductor technologies into highly efficient, integrated systems. The project improves the performance, reliability, and compactness of power electronic solutions, with applications in renewable energy systems, e-mobility, industrial automation, and AI-driven infrastructure. EDI contributes to the development of secure AI-based monitoring and control for power electronics, focusing on the protection of AI models, and also leads the project’s quality and risk management activities.

Moore4Power is supported by the Chips Joint Undertaking and its members, including the top-up funding by National Authorities under Grant Agreement No 101252572.
