Space Technologies

In this application area, EDI has two sub-directions: one related to Earth observation and another related to the development of extremely precise timing technologies (<3 ps), both for satellite laser ranging and for spacecraft (space-grade electronics).

Our timers (projects ESA MPET, ESIF DalaS, SiLA) are used globally in satellite laser ranging (SLR) and in China's JUNO facility (similar to CERN in Europe). We develop satellite image processing algorithms for applications in forestry, agriculture and natural resources monitoring (projects ESA DynLand, ESIF NevKlas, RONIN, WoodStock).

Information about the completed and ongoing projects related to Earth observation can be found here.
