On 27 May, the Gender Equality Commission of the Institute of Electronics and Computer Science organised an educational seminar on gender equality and the role of women in society.

The seminar was moderated by Eva Kiršteine from association “Women for Safety” and not only provided educational information, but also included a number of activities.

The workshop covered three main topics:

What is gender equality and why is it necessary – the speaker presented why equal rights and opportunities are essential for both women and men and how they contribute to the overall development of society.

– “Women as Leaders” – discussed both the challenges and opportunities that women face on the path to leadership in politics, business and other fields.

– Mixed teams and the implementation of mixed team projects – the discussion explained the importance of mixed teams and their positive impact on the working environment.

The seminar was not only informative, but also interactive, with activities where EDI staff could share their views on gender roles and their place in society. These activities stimulated reflection and opened new perspectives on the importance of gender equality in everyday life.

We would like to thank Eva Kiršteine for her contribution and for an exciting workshop! The workshop was a valuable experience that made us think, inspired and stimulated further conversations about equality and justice in the EDI Institute and in society at large.
