Dr. Roberts Lazdiņš is an electrical systems engineer at the Institute of Electronics and Computer Science. He graduated from Riga Technical University (RTU), where in 2024 he obtained a Doctor of Science Degree in Engineering and Technology.
- He is the author of 10+ scientific publications and has participated in 8 different research projects. His main research interests include energy communities, integration of local energy systems, agricultural sector electrification and electricity demand flexibility, with recent focus on the development of power system dynamic models. As part of his Doctoral Thesis, he developed one of the first energy community modelling and planning tools in Latvia.
- In 2018, he received an award from AS Latvenergo for his bachelor’s thesis “Modelling of Power System Elements”, and in 2020 he was recognised for his contribution to smart city development. The same year, he was included in the RTU Golden Fund. In 2024, he was also awarded the AS Latvenergo and Latvian Academy of Sciences Annual Prize for Young Scientists for his achievements in the field of energy.
