On May 14 and 15 , 2026 in Riga was going on Deep Tech 2026 conference – the Baltic’s leading science-intensive technology event. This year’s main themes were medical technology (MedTech) and defense technology (Defense Tech). This year, Deep Tech Atelier 2026 brought together more than 2,300 registered participants from 69 countries – startups, investors, scientists, and innovators. During the event, there were three conference stages organized: “Deep Tech,” “Deep Frontier,” and “Growth Stage”. The conference featured discussions on AI, trust, sovereignty, defense innovation, and European competitiveness, as well as investor panels, reverse pitch sessions, workshops, and active networking throughout the event. A Startup Pitch Competition was also held in parallel.
This was the place to meet industry leaders and experienced experts, be inspired by the brightest minds in science and technology – entrepreneurs, researchers, and inventors who are changing the world with their ideas. During the event it was possible to discover the latest industry trends, present different new projects and to expand international network. A great list of companies used Dep Tech event in order to take the next step in own business and technology development.
Institute of Electronics and Computer Science (EDI) was represented by Egils Berins. He met with several potential foreign partners from Austria and Switzerland to discuss possible cooperation on commercializing of various solutions developed by scientists of EDI.
Egils Berins met with Ivo Ķutts from Tactical Aviation company in order to discuss about the possible cooperation in order to take the next step in own business of this company to develop together one specific innovative solution.
Also meetings with some existing partners of EDI took place during the conference. Egils Berins discussed about further co-operation with Aija Hermane-Sabule (CEO, Watchbuilt company).
