The Innovation Impact Forum 2026 brought together leading experts in innovation, investment, and deep-tech commercialization at the University of Latvia Science House on 12 May.

Within the forum, parallel BioPhoT presentation sessions showcased more than 20 research projects from the fields of biomedicine, photonics, smart materials, and advanced engineering systems. The teams presented their technologies to investors, industry representatives, and innovation experts, receiving valuable feedback on commercialization potential and market readiness from an international expert panel.

The BoMUS-2 project was presented, introducing an innovative portable dual-mode ultrasound system that enables simultaneous quantitative assessment of bone porosity and muscle quality for early detection of osteosarcopenia risk in primary care and large-scale population screening.

Several projects were recognized with awards across both thematic categories, reflecting the diversity and strength of research within the BioPhoT platform.

The forum also served as a key networking platform for researchers, policymakers, technology transfer experts, and venture capital representatives, fostering new partnerships and international collaboration opportunities.
