On July 1-3 2026, researcher at the Institute of Electronics and Computer Science (EDI), Edgars Lielāmurs, participated in the 2nd period review event of the Horizon Europe Chips-JU project “Ensuring Sovereignty of European Electronic Components and Systems (ECS) Value Chains by Developing Next-Generation ECS for the Automotive Sector” (ShapeFuture) in Munich, Germany.

During the event, the project partners presented the project’s work packages and innovation chains to the reviewers.

EDI participates in the project within the framework of innovation chain INN1 (ECS for perception), where it is developing a demonstrator for an event and frame fusion system. During the evaluation session, the leader of INN1 presented the results achieved so far, including the structure of the EDI perception system, the performance indicators reached to date, as well as the next steps for preparing the system components for integration and validation.

The reviewers positively evaluated the presented results, commending the progress made and the development direction.
