From September 6 to 11, 2026. EDI Director and leading Researcher Dr.sc.comp. Modris Greitāns participated in the NAP2026 conference in Budva, Montenegro.
During the conference, a decision was adopted and announced to host the next NAP2027 conference in Latvia, where EDI will be as one of the co-organizers alongside the IEEE Nanotechnology Council, Sumy State University, the Latvian Academy of Sciences, and the University of Latvia. In addition to the traditional conference format, a special symposium dedicated to MXene materials is planned. This is linked also to the dissemination of results from the Horizon Europe project ESCULAPE, in which EDI is a partner.
Several potential collaboration opportunities between EDI and materials science researchers were also identified during the conference. These include leveraging EDI’s expertise in experimental data processing, analysis, and simulation, as well as demonstrating practical applications for new materials, including MXenes, through the joint development of device prototypes that utilize the unique properties of these materials. Such collaboration could facilitate the transfer of advancements in materials science to the fields of sensor technology, energy, and other areas within EDI’s research activities.
