From October 5 to 8, 2026, software engineer Juris Siņica-Siņavskis participated in the BEC2026 conference in Tallinn, Estonia, as part of the EDI-SS4 project.

During the event, he established contacts with various participants from research institutions in Estonia, Finland, the Czech Republic, and Portugal. The conference featured presentations on scientific research regarding electronic communication systems – such as 5G/6G technologies, the Internet of Things (IoT), cognitive and self-organizing networks, and machine learning in communication systems – as well as unmanned aerial vehicle systems and other fields.

Prior to the conference, there was an opportunity to participate in a “Deep-Tech” forum in TalTech University focused on student ideas and discussions regarding commercialization. Potential collaborations for European and other project calls were discussed with several conference participants, particularly in the field of signal processing. During the signal processing session, Juris Siņica-Siņavskis presented a conference paper titled “ An Unsupervised Regression-Based Residual Approach for Detecting Hazardous Trees in Mixed Forest Utility Buffers.”
