On March 31, 2026, the Faculty of Computer Science, Information Technology, and Energy (DITEF) at RTU hosted the 2026 general meeting of the Latvian Electrical Engineering and Electronics Industry Association (LETERA), at which the Institute of Electronics and Computer Science EDI was represented by Egils Berins. LETERA President Normunds Bergs reported on the work accomplished and the most successful activities in 2025 and explained the direction and goals for 2026. Later in the meeting, the new LETERA members who joined the association in 2025 were welcomed.  At the conclusion, participants were given the opportunity to present during the “open microphone” session.

As part of the event, participants also visited the Latvian Electronics Equipment Testing Center (SIA LEITC). During the visit, Dr. Gundars Ašmanis spoke about the electronic equipment testing process and demonstrated the center’s infrastructure. Those interested had the opportunity to view an anechoic chamber, where radiation tests are conducted, as well as a specially shielded room for amplifier conductivity tests. At the end of the meeting, participants were able to ask questions and learn more about electronic equipment testing methods and their practical applications.

Following the opening of the general meeting and the election of the LETERA Board, Edgars Šadris, Deputy State Secretary for Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Economics of the Republic of Latvia, gave a presentation. During his presentation, he provided an overview of current developments in European Union fund support programs available to Latvian companies. During the presentation, LETERA members actively participated in the discussion, asking several questions about funding opportunities, program conditions, and their practical application for business development.
