On 23 May, the Institute of Electronics and Computer Science hosted a general meeting of its scientists in the EDI Great Hall. 26 scientists working at the Institute took part. The meeting started with a report by the Director of the Institute, M. Greitāns, on the Institute’s results for 2024. The changes in the structure of the EDI (establishment of new laboratories, consolidation with the Institute of Physical Energetics), staff changes, staff motivation measures, finances, as well as the situation with projects and publications, the outlook for the next year and preparations for the international evaluation were discussed.

Then the Chair of the Scientific Council of the EDI, R. Kadiķis, gave an overview of the activities of the Scientific Council in 2024. The General Assembly discusses the activities carried out by the Council in relation to the provision of open access to articles, the renewal of the Institute’s development strategy and the improvement of the volume and quality of publications.

Finally, with the expiry of the term of the existing Scientific Council, a new Scientific Council was elected by secret ballot: R. Novickis, A. Ancāns, J. Ārents, K. Freivalds, M. Greitāns, M. Ivanovs, A. Mutule, K. Ozols, L. Seļāvo and Juris Siņica-Siņavskis.
