From May 20 to 21, 2026, the Deputy Director of Development and Senior Researcher Dr. Kaspars Ozols and researcher Dr. Rolands Savelis of the Institute of Electronics and Computer Science (EDI) took part in the launch meeting of the Horizon Europe Chips-JU project “More than Moore for Disruptive Innovations in Power Electronics” (Moore4Power) in Munich, Germany.

The project kick-off meeting marked the official launch of this EU flagship initiative aimed at advancing the next generation of sustainable power electronics. Partners from 15 countries came together to establish the foundations for achieving the project’s objectives and long-term impact.

Over the course of two days, consortium members presented the project’s vision, goals, and expected outcomes. They also agreed on work plans, defined responsibilities across all work packages, and established effective collaboration structures and communication channels.

The meeting laid the groundwork for future exploitation, dissemination, and innovation activities. It also provided valuable networking opportunities, strengthening partnerships and establishing a solid foundation for subsequent project activities.

EDI researchers contributed to the event sessions, engaging with partners in the Cross Innovation Topic “Trust and Security”. They identified key challenges, research gaps, and collaboration opportunities within the field. Discussions focused in particular on the use of secure AI frameworks for power electronics monitoring, including the application of generative AI models to produce training data for specialized monitoring tasks. In addition, Dr. Kaspars Ozols, as task leader for risk management, presented the planned approach to risk management within the project.
