Cooperation with universities
is the foundation of our research. Together with our academic partners, we develop joint scientific projects, promote interdisciplinary research, and train new scientists.
Our university partners enable us to combine knowledge, laboratory resources, and academic expertise to address both theoretical and practical challenges in the fields of technology and engineering. This collaboration also strengthens student involvement in innovation and international projects.
The Institute of Electronics and Computer Science (EDI) cooperates with a wide network of Latvian and foreign universities to jointly strengthen the science and innovation ecosystem on both a regional and international scale.
EDI researchers are actively involved in joint scientific projects, doctoral study programs, publications, as well as mentoring students and young researchers. We believe that close cooperation between science and education is the basis for the emergence of new ideas and technologies that promote the competitiveness of both Latvia and Europe.
Our university partners make a significant contribution to the formation of international consortia, science communication, and the process of technology transfer and commercialization. Such partnerships allow us to combine academic experience with the results of applied research, ensuring that innovations are transformed into practical solutions.
The EDI cooperation network covers a wide range of higher education institutions – from the University of Latvia, Riga Technical University and Riga Stradiņš University, to partners in Europe and beyond, including KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Aalto University, Tartu University, Lodz University of Technology, University of Cambridge, Kaunas University of Technology, University of Naples Federico II, and other leading research universities.
