19-21 May 2025 EDI senior researcher Dr. sc. comp. Kārlis Freivalds and researcher Laura Leja participated in the AIMS5.0 General Assembly held in Gdansk, Poland.

This three-day event is dedicated to all work packages of the project to discuss in person and inform many other partners about the possibilities to collaborate across work packages.

On 19 May, Kārlis Freivalds, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Electronics and Computer Science, participated in a steering meeting with the project steering group representing WP2 and presented the work done and planned for the coming year. The upcoming “review meeting” on 16 June was also discussed. Before the meeting, WP2 needs to update the risk assessment and select the demonstrators to be presented.

EDI researcher Laura Leja, together with other researchers, attended the General Assembly meeting where they presented the WP8 results on science dissemination and communication. The achievements so far have been convincing and, with one year to go, even better results are expected, especially in terms of scientific publications and activities.

EDI researchers participated together in a demonstration of UC6 applications called “Reconfigurable AI-based automated robotic conveyor replenishment”. The aim is to develop an AI-based robotic system for placing components on a conveyor belt in a cosmetic product manufacturing process.
