In July 2025, EDI software engineer Anete Savicka participates in the AI+Science Summer School 2025 organised by the University of Chicago’s Data Science Institute in Paris, France.
During the summer school, Anete Savicka presented a poster “Motor Imagery EEG Classification with Real-World and EEG-GAN-Generated Data” on research developed within the ReHaB project. The aim of the study was to investigate the classification of EEG data using LSTM neural networks and synthetic EEG data generated with EEG-GAN.
In addition to the academic part, a strong focus was put on networking possibilities. Anete actively engaged in discussions with students and researchers from Edinburgh, Chicago, Japan, Korea, Italy, Israel and France, exchanging ideas and learning about the research directions of other participants. New contacts were also made with scientists whose research is in line with the EDI’s field of activity, thus strengthening the Institute’s international cooperation and research capacity.
