Gender equality is one of the core values of the Institute of Electronics and Computer Science. It promotes research growth, innovation quality, and helps attract and retain talent. The institute is committed to providing an inclusive work environment where everyone, regardless of gender, origin, nationality, or other factors, has equal opportunities for development and professional growth.
Article 91 of the Constitution of the Republic of Latvia stipulates that all people are equal before the law and that rights are exercised without discrimination. The European Institute for Gender Equality also emphasizes that women and men have an equal role in the development of society and must be guaranteed equal rights, responsibilities, and access to resources.
Gender equality means that the contributions of both sexes to society and their needs are treated equally. It is important in all areas of life and is consistent with the fundamental values of the European Union: freedom, democracy, equality, and human rights.
