Remuneration

EUR 1600.00 to EUR 3520.00 full-time, depending on education, qualifications, experience and workload.

We invite you to join a research group at the Institute of Electronics and Computer Science (hereafter EDI) that studies and develops various wireless sensor systems (including hardware and software). The specific vacancy is related to the development of an industrial wireless sensor for power electronics applications to provide high reliability wireless connectivity. We are looking for two colleagues, one to provide customised hardware and firmware development (electronics) and one to provide algorithm and software development.

Job duties

  • Independently or under the supervision of a supervisor (researcher, senior researcher), carry out individual work tasks in basic research or innovative projects;
  • Research and develop hardware and/or firmware and/or software for a wireless sensor network system;
  • Test the developed hardware and software in laboratory and real environment conditions;
  • Participate in the publication and presentation of research results at scientific meetings.

Requirements for applicants

  • Experience in electronics development or knowledge of C/C++ or Python programming languages, preferably practical experience;
  • Very good written and spoken Latvian and English;
  • Good communication skills, ability to work both in a team and individually;
  • Higher education in computer science or equivalent is desirable, PhD studies will be an advantage (possibility to combine the PhD thesis with work at the Institute);
  • High sense of responsibility and punctuality.
