Dr. Leo Selavo is a senior researcher and a full Professor at the University of Latvia’s Faculty of Computing, positions he has held since 2007. His work focuses on developing complex, real-time embedded systems, with primary research interests in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) and the Internet of Things (IoT), particularly their applications in smart healthcare, digital systems, and intelligent transportation. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Pittsburgh. His academic career includes significant time in the United States, serving as a researcher at the University of Virginia (2005–2007) and holding an employment position at the University of Iowa (2015–2016) in Computer Science.
