Laura Leja joined EDI in 2022. She graduated from the University of Latvia, where she obtained a master’s degree in mathematics in 2020, and is currently studying for a PhD in computer science and mathematics at the University of Latvia.
Her research covers a wide range of topics, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence and differential physics methods in the fields of motion planning and dynamic system modeling. Laura focuses on tasks aimed at developing methods that accurately model the interaction between the laws of physics and learning algorithms, thereby creating new approaches and understanding of complex systems.
In addition to her professional activities, Laura is passionate about self-defense sports, which help her maintain focus, discipline, and physical well-being during the intense research process.
