Romans Maļiks has been working at EDI since 2016. He graduated from Riga Technical University’s Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications, where he earned a Master’s degree in Engineering Sciences in Electronics in 2018, and spent one semester at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm as part of the Erasmus+ exchange programme. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Electronics. His research interests span artificial intelligence, machine learning and data science, integrated circuit design, and embedded systems, with a focus on the intersection of these fields — from the algorithmic level through to hardware implementation.

A notable achievement is his completion of a full integrated circuit development cycle using BiCMOS (SiGe:C) technology, from schematic design to ordering the chip from a manufacturer. He also has hands-on experience with STM32 microcontroller-based embedded systems. Coding in Python and C.
