Remuneration
EUR 1280.00 to EUR 2560.00 full-time, depending on scientific and academic degrees, qualifications and experience, and the amount of work to be carried out.
Description
You will participate in a current project related to research on connected self-driving cars. You will design and develop software that will allow EDI cars to sense their surroundings, plan trajectories and execute cooperative manoeuvres, taking into account other cars or traffic elements. The aim of the work is to contribute to the further development of self-driving car science.
Job responsibilities
- Carry out, independently or under the supervision of a supervisor (researcher, senior researcher), individual work tasks in fundamental research or innovative projects;
- Develop architecture and software for the various functions of self-driving cars, as well as study the achievements of other researchers in similar disciplines;
- Test the developed software in simulations and driving experiments;
- Participate in the publication of research results and their presentation at scientific meetings;
- Participate in the preparation of project reports and documentation.
Requirements for applicants
- Experience with self-driving cars or similar systems will be an advantage;
- Good knowledge of C++ and Python programming languages, practical experience desirable;
- Knowledge of ROS, ML/DL/RL, machine vision will be an advantage;
- Higher education in computer science or equivalent is desirable, PhD studies will be an advantage (possibility to link the PhD thesis with work at the Institute);
- Very good written and spoken Latvian and English;
- Good communication skills, ability to work both in a team and individually;
- High sense of responsibility and punctuality;
- Willingness to learn and acquire new skills.
