EDI senior researcher Rihards Novickis is participating in the A-IQ Ready project’s General Assembly, where the project’s progress is being discussed and preparations are being made for the final project evaluation. In the project, EDI leads the development of quantum sensor technology, and together with the Institute of Applied Quantum Technologies (AQuT) (Erlangen, Germany) and the Arquimea Research company (Tenerife, Spain), is developing a quantum sensor based on nitrogen-vacancy centers in diamond for magnetic field measurement.
The long-term goal of the international team is to improve the maturity of the quantum sensor technology by increasing performance, reducing costs, and validating the technology in new applications: (1) localisation based on the magnetic field generated by the Earth, and (2) real-time motor control. During this meeting, Rihards is presenting to the other partners the progress made in the development of the quantum sensor technology, as well as EDI’s plans for further exploitation of the technology
