From December 2 to 4, 2025, Dr. Modris Greitāns, Director and Senior Researcher at the Institute of Electronics and Computer Science (EDI), Dr. Kaspars Ozols, Deputy Director for Development, leading researchers Dr. Jānis Ārents and Dr. Jānis Judvaitis as well as researcher Dr. Armands Ancāns participated in the European Forum for Electronic Components and Systems (EFECS) held in St Julian’s, Malta.
During the forum, participants were introduced to the planned calls for proposals under the Chips-JU 2026 Work Programme, the latest industry trends, and future challenges. Significant attention was devoted both to maintaining relationships with existing partners and to establishing new international contacts, with the aim of continuing cooperation and joining new project consortia for upcoming Horizon Europe Chips-JU proposals.
In addition, EDI representatives presented the institute’s scientific results and achievements to potential cooperation partners during the event.

At the SUSTRONICS project booth, Armands Ancāns and Modris Greitāns demonstrated EDI’s bioimpedance-based vital signs monitoring device along with eco-friendly electrodes manufactured by Screentec partners.
