Development of Research Infrastructure at the Institute of Electronics and Computer Science (EDI-PIA)

Objective of the project – strengthening of institutional capacity of EDI and concentration of research resources in competitive scientific institution, improving efficiency of EDI management and resource management and modernizing research infrastructure within the scope of smart specialization of Latvia, thus facilitating involvement of EDI in European Union level infrastructures and use of research infrastructure at EDI for practical economic problem addressing the issue.
The main activities of the project are the development of research infrastructure, which includes the acquisition and modernization of research equipment, software and workplaces, as well as the development of premises, laboratories and shared infrastructure, including the improvement and adaptation of EDI space and outdoor infrastructure for research purposes.
As a result of the project, EDI scientists will have access to a modernized research infrastructure for high quality research to strengthen their internationally recognized research organization.
Project implementation place – Institute of Electronics and Computer Science Dzērbenes iela 14, Riga.
Project Duration: January 1, 2018 – December 31, 2021.
Total funding of the project: 939 933.00 EUR, of which ERDF funding is 758 995.00 EUR.

23.03.2018 The first five jobs in the electronic procurement system are purchased, office chairs, computers, printers, software and whiteboards are purchased. As a result, the first five jobs planned in the project are fully completed.

17.05.2018 has signed an agreement with SIA “D BŪVE” on the construction of outdoor territory for the extended ITS (Intelligent Transport System) test environment. Builders have started contract work.
